Here are a handful of the hundreds of t-shirts made by survivors of violence and their loved ones. The t-shirts are part of the Clothesline Project, a national outreach and awareness campaign which displays t-shirts holding the messages of hurt, healing, and courage on clothesline to "air the dirty laundry" of a society which still silences the voices of victims and survivors. The HOPE Works Clothesline Project is a moving display that can be booked throughout Chittenden County.
Some of the stories and/or words on these t-shirts are graphic and can be hard to see. Seeing these images may be difficult, so please pay attention to your own feelings and take care of yourself. Take a break when you need to and talk to someone about how you feel. We hope that these t-shirts inspire you, help you in your healing process, and empower you to keep on growing and surviving.
