Intern

We have many internships available for undergraduate and graduate students at many of the local colleges and universities in Chittenden County. Contact our volunteer coordinator at Federica@hopeworksvt.org or (802) 864.0555 ext 13 for more information. Our current offerings are listed below:

Hotline Internship

  • Help survivors of violence by answering our 24 hour hotline and providing crisis support, options, and referrals

  • Must attend 32+ hours of volunteer training

  • Must take 3-4 hotline shifts a week (shifts run 9am-5pm and 5pm-9am , weekdays & weekends)

  • Applications accepted in the spring and fall.

Computer/Website/IT Support Internship

  • Help office with IT support, computer issues problem-solving, software updating, and website support as needed

  • Applications accepted year-round.

Grant Writing and Research Internship

  • Help fund programs for survivors of violence and learn an important job skill at the same time

  • 2 semester internship (not offered in Summer)

  • Must have excellent writing and organization skills to qualify for this internship

Outreach Intern

  • HOPE Works' Outreach Intern would work in partnership with the Education Coordinator to provide an ongoing presence at area meetings, to connect our work with other service providers, to recommend new collaborations/communities with whom we should be working, to develop materials that best represent our mission and work in the community, and to be the face of HOPE Works at all Outreach events (i.e., tabling opportunities, Clothesline Projects, Health Fairs, etc.).

Sexual Violence Awareness Month Intern

  • Sexual Violence Awareness Month Internship - focused on all aspects of coordinating, marketing, and implementing events and activities for the month of April 2018.

  • Spring Semester Internship

Advocacy Intern

  • The advocacy internship is an opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate-level student with an interest in working to end sexual violence to contribute to and potentially co-facilitate some of our groups, develop a comprehensive understanding of basic legal advocacy and how our legal system impacts survivors, as well as overseeing ongoing projects and contributions to survivors in the community.

Chittenden County Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force Assistant

  • This position would be responsible for assisting the DSVTF Coordinator and the Executive Committee of the DSVTF (which I sit on) with coordinating monthly meetings of the full task force as well as subcommittees of the DSVTF.

  • Internship is available year-round.

Development & Communications Intern

  • HOPE Works is seeking a dynamic and energetic individual to work with development staff to advance our fundraising and marketing capabilities, support special development projects and our annual campaign, and a major voice in our online presence, including: social media, website, blog, and online distribution of information.

  • Full Academic Year Internship

  • Applications accepted in the spring prior to the start of the internship.

Media/Video/Photography Internship

  • Help videotape, edit, and produce our trainings digitally; create a PSA; direct a short video highlighting the work of our community partners, etc.

  • 1-2 semester internship

  • Graphic design, photography and video experience required; must have access to own equipment
