H.O.P.E. Works offers free support groups for survivors of sexual violence. H.O.P.E. Works is currently offering the following groups:
Our longest standing support group, The Healing Journey, is for survivors and addresses common responses to sexual assault and abuse, the impacts of trauma, and the stages of healing. Participants are offered the space to share their personal experiences and to participate in healing activities such as art, movement, and guided imagery. The Healing Journey is offered twice a year for 6 to 8 weeks, and group members are encouraged to attend all meetings.
H.O.P.E. Works also offers a weekly on-going Resiliency Group. This group is for survivors of sexual violence at any stage of recovery who are interested in working on day-to-day coping skills. This group focuses on the everyday challenges that survivors may face, and helps to build skills around empowerment, support systems, and self-care.
Please note that Resiliency Group is currently taking a brief summer hiatus during which time we will be conducting some support group community assessments, and potentially inviting some new or updated support group offerings into our services.
If anyone would like further information or is interested in talking about resources, activities, therapy, or self-care work to engage during this pause in our support group offering, please email our Victim Advocate and support group coordinator OR call (802) 864-0555, extension 19.
